This is my beloved 2006 BMW F650GS. You may recall that she experienced catastrophic engine failure last April, and did not return to me, repaired, until late September.
The first ride I took with the GS after the re-build was at the end of September, to 96 Ranch. Everything felt “funny” to me, but then I am a gearhead and feel everything mechanical. It was almost as if all the parts had not completely synchronized and needed to be “ridden in” before they were all working well together. But, one day it all clicked, and the bike started to feel great. I have noticed an increase in horsepower, at least in my perception, and quickness in acceleration. I don’t run out of throttle anymore, even going up some of the steep grades that were somewhat challenging before.
I love this bike, more than ever!
