After a day of incredible heat, here is the reward – the sunset:
It’s been a long hot day that started out with me riding into it at 8 a.m. The temperature was already around 96°F. and later reached around 114°. I did a quick 100 miles to get my day off to a good start and also to check that the F800ST was ready to go to Colorado for the weekend. She is.
To finish off the blazing day, a mild thunderstorm is pushing waves of heat lightning in from the east. When I walked outside a few minutes ago I felt rather than saw the cloud bank in the darkness. The air is hot and close out there, heavy with the feeling of storm.
One more day and I will be on the road. I can’t wait to escape.
