Here is the video I shot yesterday:

I am surprised I got it done this quickly!

  1. Luckily, the road itself is a darker brown that the surrounding burnt out land. It truly is sad how long it takes to recover. We went up to Yellowstone once following the huge 1988 fire and they said it would be decades before it was anywhere near normal.

    • That is true. It will be decades before the Rodeo-Chedeski burn area is even somewhat recovered. The most tragic, to me, is the Wallow fire burn area, I guess because the road that goes through it, 191, is so wonderful for motorcycle riders. I always loved the beautiful scenery and the road, and I was devastated last summer when so much of it burned. Now the Gila is burning in New Mexico, another beloved place. Very sad.
