Flowering hope

I took this photo of one of my irises about to bloom:

A purple iris about to pop open

I thought I would find something positive and hopeful today. There were singing birds, buzzing bees, and late in the day, I spotted a hen with several tiny chicks! I hope I will see her again tomorrow. The bar  hen(named so for the pattern of her feathers) still has three chicks, and they are getting bigger. I hope they survive!

Ah, spring on “the farm”!

  1. Well, life on the farm is kinda laid back. Ain’t much an old country girl like you can’t hack. It’s early to rise, early in the sack. Thank God, you’re a country girl. (to paraphrase John Denver)

Wow, what an exciting life you lead. Little chickadees running around. Sitting around waiting on a flower to bloom. Singing with the birds. Buzzing with the bees. Still, it must be better than sitting in a classroom all day. I know my wife is enjoying Spring Break.

    Hey, no riding yesterday?

    • Well, I rode over to get the dirt bike emission tested, I guess that kind of counts as “riding.” I am packing today for our trip, so will be on the bike for the rest of spring break. Yes, anything is better than sitting in that classroom all day, especially this year. I sure hope next year is better.
